The authors of this study describe a chemical method for cell-line authentication based on known compound cell cytotoxicity. The CytoSMART live-cell imaging system, Lux2 was used to evaluate whether one of the cytotoxic compounds, P15, inhibited migration of breast cancer cell lines. All in all, the findings of this study show that drugs could be used in the authentication of cell lines through simple cytotoxicity tests.
