All devices connect to a single laptop optimizing lab space and give access to data of running experiments remotely from the comfort of your home.

CytoSMART also offers cloud-based image analysis for various applications such as growth, wound healing, cytotoxicity, cell migration, cytopathic effect assays, and more.

Images are uploaded to the CytoSMART Cloud were they are combined into time-lapse movies. These movies are automatically analyzed using the CytoSMART image analysis software. All results are remotely accessible in the CytoSMART Cloud, therefore, unnecessary lab visits can be skipped.

If you already have a single CytoSMART Lux2 in your lab, upgrading to the Multi Lux can be done by simply ordering extra CytoSMART Lux2 devices. Any software updates can be performed remotely. No extra laptop is needed. An additional multi-port USB3 adapter should be available.

The CytoSMART Multi Lux is a complete live-cell imaging system with automated image analysis software, which employs four compact inverted microscopes that are designed to be placed inside an incubator, to monitor cell cultures. The system can be used as a notification system to alert users when a cell culture confluence target is reached. It is a perfect solution for long-term comparison studies and large laboratory teams.

No calibration by the user is needed for the devices to operate.

The system requires a dedicated desktop or laptop running on Windows 10 or above, with four USB3 ports (or multi-port USB3 adapter) and an active internet connection. If your lab doesn’t have the required hardware, we can supply these for a fee as part of your order.

The CytoSMART Multi Lux remote functionality runs on cloud-based software. In this cloud-environment the images are stored and can be accessed using user-specific login details. Next to unlimited data storage, image analysis algorithms can be run to quantify confluence and cell migration.

The CytoSMART Multi Lux allows monitoring of a wide range of different culture dishes and flasks, such as:

  • ​T-flasks: T-25 up to T-250

  • Single well, multi-well plates (6 - 384-well plates)

  • Microfluidic chips

  • Flat tubes

  • Petri dishes

  • Slides

This is not an exhaustive list, so if your preferred equipment isn’t on this list, please get in touch with us. For larger flasks, an adapter plate may be required. This plate can be purchased at CytoSMART.

Magnification is equal to a standard microscope with a 10x fixed objective and 20x digital zoom.

Images can be recorded at pre-defined intervals. At the start of a new experiment, you can specify the interval rate anywhere between 5 min - 12 hours.

The devices are easy to clean using lint-free wipes and ethanol (70%) or isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Do not use acetone to clean the devices. Please be aware that the devices cannot be autoclaved.

After sterilizing with ethanol or IPA, the devices can be used in a cleanroom.
